As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for handling patient billing inquiries, providing top-notch customer service, and collecting past due balances. If you're a motivated and results-driven individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering exceptional patient experiences, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. **Responsibilities:** As a Patient Account Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for: * Handling patient billing inquiries via inbound and outbound telephone calls, email, fax, regular mail correspondence, or in-person interactions * Serving as a liaison between patients, providers, external departments, or other responsible individuals to ensure that charts are applied appropriately * Recording and maintaining transactions accurately to resolve account balances and discrepancies within the prescribed period * Planning, organizing, and prioritizing work to convince debtors of the necessity of assuming financial responsibility * Educating debtors on available payment options and explaining the financial impact of various alternatives * Providing top-quality customer service experiences to ensure and maintain high levels of patient satisfaction * Representing careerzynith by providing appropriate levels of competency and professionalism to ensure that all patient issues are resolved timely, accurately, and efficiently * Ensuring that each call is handled appropriately and effectively to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction * Performing other duties as required **Requirements:** To be successful in this role, you'll need: * A high school diploma or equivalent * 1 year of customer service, healthcare, or office experience * Previous call center experience is preferred * Experience with medical terminology in a medical billing environment * Strong computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information * Effective verbal and written communication skills to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process * Proficiency with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to the role, and keyboard skills * Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, providers, and external departments * Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload and work with minimal supervision to make independent decisions **Preferred Qualifications:** * Bachelor's degree in a related field * Previous experience in a medical billing environment * Knowledge of current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility **Skills and Competencies:** To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess: * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities * Strong organizational and time management skills * Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information * Strong customer service skills to provide exceptional patient experiences * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Strong technical skills, including proficiency with computer software and hardware **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits:** At careerzynith, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
