**Job Summary**
As an Ocean Product Development Specialist, you'll play a critical role in supporting the growth of ocean volumes and enhancing the development of our ocean product. You'll work closely with our MD of Ocean, carrier development teams, and sales and operations teams to implement strategies that increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of arenaflex.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Support carrier development, pricing, and analysis of carrier service, routings, and carrier performance
* Assist in implementing pricing programs and reviewing volume targets
* Develop an ocean strategy that enhances the effectiveness of sales to achieve expectations of account development and yield enhancement
* Communicate strategies, market conditions, and direction to internal and external stakeholders
* Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded
* Gather, analyze, and report information regarding performance and competitive activity
* Manage annual budget and control, monitor, and report results on a regular basis
* Work closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product
**Essential Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent
* At least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience
* Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office apps
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience in negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, and analyzing ocean rates and routing
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
