**About the Role:**
As a Medical Records Data Entry Specialist, you will play a vital role in our Release of Information (ROI) team, responsible for preparing and processing medical records for audits and mail-outs. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will ensure that our customers receive accurate and timely information. **Responsibilities:**
- Communicate effectively with insurance agents, beneficiaries, and hospital staff to gather information and resolve queries
- Prepare claim forms and related documentation for audits and mail-outs, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Review claim submissions and verify information to ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations
- Record and maintain policies and claims information in database systems, ensuring up-to-date and accurate records
- Perform clerical tasks as required, including sorting and preparing hard copy records for scanning and document preparation
- Scan hard copy files to electronic images, ensuring a quality image and following production procedures
- Complete internal documentation and tracking, ensuring efficient and accurate record-keeping
**Requirements:**
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and computer knowledge, including medical terminology
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and management
- Ability to remove staples, sort, file, and box records, maintaining record order and sequence
- Understanding of the importance of detail and accuracy, with the ability to work at a sustained pace to meet production rates while producing quality work
- 1+ year of medical data entry experience or 1+ year of medical front desk experience
