Job Overview

As an IT Support Specialist at blithequark, you will be responsible for providing professional and convenient first and second-level technical support to our crewmembers. Your primary focus will be on resolving technical issues, answering questions, and providing guidance on our equipment and applications. You will also be responsible for documenting, tracking, and monitoring requests to ensure timely resolution. This is a part-time, remote position that offers a competitive hourly rate of $30/hr.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for all blithequark equipment and applications, including communication and mobile devices
• Deliver excellent on-site and remote customer service to blithequark crewmembers
• Coordinate resolution of incidents/requests from start to finish with internal and external resources
• Monitor and support systems, ensuring optimal performance and uptime
• Maintain and support client access, ensuring seamless connectivity and minimal downtime
• Collaborate with all IT disciplines to achieve first-contact resolution for all issues
• Maintain documentation of requests per blithequark standards, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
• Update database documentation with the most critical information, ensuring knowledge sharing and continuity
• Coordinate response for significant incidents and outages, minimizing impact and ensuring prompt resolution

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate
• Experience supporting latest operating systems, or successful completion of IT for Everyone certification via Coursera
• Experience implementing and supporting applications, with a focus on troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Availability for short-term travel (up to 50%), with a valid passport and ability to travel to and from Jamaica and the US
• Ability to obtain a valid visa to travel to the US, with a clear understanding of immigration requirements
• Experience using desktop configuration packages, with a strong foundation in IT principles and practices
• Legal eligibility to work in the country where the position is located, with no requirement for visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

• Certifications (Microsoft, Networking, programming languages), demonstrating a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
• Knowledge of Microsoft desktop and server products, with experience in troubleshooting and configuration

• Knowledge of LAN environment using TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, with experience in network administration and management
• Knowledge of communication, messaging, and system (VOIP and POTS), with a focus on unified communications and collaboration
• Knowledge of mobile devices, with experience in mobile device management and security
• Knowledge of MDM solutions like Workspace ONE and Microsoft Intune, with a focus on device management and security
