About the Job
We are seeking an experienced and passionate English instructor to join our team of remote language instructors. As a part-time, freelance instructor, you will have the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home, creating a schedule that suits your needs and lifestyle. Our students come to us not just to learn a language, but also to gain an understanding of the culture, and we believe that our instructors are the key to unlocking this experience.
Responsibilities
As a remote English instructor, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Preparing for your lessons by reviewing the provided material and tailoring your instruction to meet the individual needs of each student
- Creating a risk-free environment where students feel encouraged to experiment with the language and make mistakes
- Documenting student progress after each lesson to track their development and identify areas for improvement
- Committing to providing 15-20 hours of instruction per week, with the flexibility to schedule your lessons at times that suit you
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Teaching experience is a plus, but not required
- Expert-level or near-expert level English language proficiency
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Technical Requirements
To ensure that you can deliver high-quality instruction, you will need to meet the following technical requirements:
- A minimum of 5 Mbps download speed and 2 Mbps upload speed
- A stable wired internet connection (Wi-Fi is not sufficient)
- A PC or laptop running Windows 10 or higher, or macOS 11 or higher (Linux does not support our applications)
- A USB headset and a camera
- For those living in areas where load shedding occurs, it is required to have a backup system to support your devices
- At least 2 GHz of base processing speed and RAM equal to or above 4096 MB (4GB)
