**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst Intern to join our Quality Control Standards and Analytics team. As a Data Analyst Intern, you will play a critical role in driving a culture of safety, efficiency, and innovation by identifying statistical trends and performance metrics to improve the Quality Control division. You will work closely with our team to analyze data, create reports, and develop recommendations for process improvements.
**Responsibilities and Expectations**
As a Data Analyst Intern, you will be responsible for:
* Performing and assisting others in the Quality Control team in ideal data collection, validation, and root cause analysis on data components.
* Helping to create and deliver results from complex data and analysis for both technical and non-technical clients and leaders.
* Assisting in exploring ad-hoc requests resulting from emerging maintenance issues and providing logical answers to enable Senior Leaders to make business decisions while adjusting existing project responsibilities.
* Presenting insights, trends, and potential recommendations by utilizing data visualization tools supporting the relevant marks of the investigation to ease partner understanding.
* Helping to create and disseminate specific queries to pull and coordinate data from various sources, establishing the rhythm, and approving the need of the data requirements.
* Identifying irregularities in processes through reviews/audits and conveying findings to the team.
* Assessing the effectiveness of processes and methods by observing for patterns and errors
* Ensuring that a compliance mindset is at the forefront of every decision
* May perform other work responsibilities as directed by Group Leader.
**Requirements and Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A strong ability to collect, organize, and analyze large amounts of data with care and accuracy.
* The capacity to effectively listen, understand, and communicate thoughts and present them in writing, verbally, or through presentations delivered to discussions of varying audiences.
* The ability to evaluate business issues, identify valuable opportunities for data needs, and interpret resulting metrics.
* A working knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Familiarity with data visualization tools and capabilities, such as Tableau, Alteryx, and QuickBase, is preferred.
* The ability to grasp the issue, summarize, and perform root cause analysis on data, and provide recommendations using logic and reasoning.
* The ability to use PowerPoint to build presentations for verbal communications is preferred.
* Past internship, capstone projects, and research coursework is preferred.
* The ability to work independently in a team-oriented, help/group-based environment.
* The ability to focus on responsibilities seriously and be a self-motivated individual.
* Past internship experience in a related field is preferred.
* The ability to handle sensitive and confidential data appropriately.
* The ability to plan and support large business initiatives.
