**Job Summary**
We're seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team on a 40-hour remote evening contract. As a key member of our customer service team, you'll be responsible for resolving patient medical billing inquiries, collecting payments, and assisting with patient inquiries regarding their medically billed charges. This is a high-volume role that requires a friendly attitude, excellent communication skills, and a strong attention to detail.
**Responsibilities**
* Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to resolve patient medical billing inquiries
* Collect payments from patients and respond to billing-related inquiries
* Assist patients with understanding their medically billed charges and provide clear explanations
* Work closely with patients to resolve complex billing issues and ensure timely resolution
* Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient interactions and billing information
* Participate in online team meetings and company Q&A forums to stay informed and engaged
* Meet daily quality and productivity quotas, as well as contribute to the overall success of the project
* Maintain accurate time tracking and reporting
* Read and follow up on denials and appeals
* Be available to work Monday through Friday during Hawaii Standard Time
* Possess excellent computer skills and ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously
* Demonstrate a friendly and professional demeanor in all interactions with patients and colleagues
**Requirements**
* 1 year of experience in medical billing and health insurance
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in resolving patient billing inquiries
* Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills
* Previous experience working with an electronic medical system required
* Ability to navigate multiple systems and software programs
* High-speed internet required (speed test will be conducted after initial interview)
* Friendly and professional attitude
* Ability to work in a remote, quiet environment
* Must have a Windows-based personal computer (no Chromebooks) capable of running multiple systems and software programs
* Must be available to complete mandatory on-boarding training
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience working in a customer service role, preferably in the healthcare industry
* Knowledge of medical billing and health insurance regulations
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
