Our Risk Finance team is responsible for planning, forecasting, and evaluating global Loss Provision and Credit Reserves, as well as providing credit-related decision support to Risk Management, local Finance, and business groups.
**The Opportunity**
We are seeking an experienced Director of Data Science to lead our Global Data Strategy group within Risk Finance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing centralized reporting capabilities, process enhancements, and automation to drive data-driven decision making across the organization. Your expertise will help us build a strong foundation for data analytics, enabling us to make informed decisions and drive business growth.
**Key Responsibilities**
As a Director of Data Science, you will be responsible for:
* Leading the strategic evaluation of arenaflex credit metrics, credit provision, and reserve for Senior Management in Risk and Finance
* Owning precise information assets/packages within Risk Finance, and becoming a subject matter expert on the applicable tools (troubleshooting issues, reconciling results, identifying enhancements and automation possibilities, and teaching other customers to drive adoption)
* Developing and maintaining preferred and ad-hoc reports used by Risk Finance and/or business partners; providing credit-related analytical support
* Developing and presenting key analyses and recommendations to Senior Management
* Building and maintaining relationships across Risk Finance portfolio groups and with partners in Risk, Controllership, Tech, etc.
* Providing decision-support with a strong emphasis on developing analytics that identify trends and opportunities in the portfolio which can be used to optimize Business and Risk decisions
**Required Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Advanced experience working with a combination of the following: SQL/Hive, Power BI/Tableau, Python/R, VBA, TM1
* Experience working with a sophisticated level of Excel and PowerPoint required
* Experience in ML modeling is a plus
* Solid economic and analytical skills; ability to work with large datasets and draw significant conclusions, empowering our business partners to make smart, data-driven decisions
* Superior attention to detail, alongside exemplary organizational and problem-solving skills
* Must be results-driven and proactive with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work within tight timelines
* Desire to work on ambiguous tasks, developing clarity while achieving successful and significant outcomes
* A strong work-ethic and strong interpersonal skills, showcasing the ability to build and maintain relationships and successfully collaborate with team members to achieve goals
* Master's degree in advanced mathematics or statistical discipline required

**Compensation and Benefits**
The anticipated salary range for this position is $55.00 to $85.00 hourly, plus bonus, equity (if relevant), and benefits. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
