Job Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Data Scientist, Marketing Analytics to join our Marketing Analytics team at blithequark. As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our marketing efforts by providing actionable insights, industry-leading measurement strategies, and access to the data, tools, and resources required for independent direction and optimization. You will work closely with our marketing, analysis, research, product, engineering, and finance teams to identify opportunities, refine the customer experience, analyze the impact of our efforts, and highlight areas for improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and refine core marketing measurement frameworks and models, including attribution, lift, CLV, ROI, testing approach, and segmentation
- Drive forward-thinking strategy for performance marketing partners by transforming raw data into meaningful and actionable analyses characterized by strong storytelling, method clarity, and clear documentation
- Play a key role in determining how we can best engage and grow blithequark customers by identifying and targeting opportunities for growth through analysis of behavioral and transactional data
- Identify key metrics that drive the performance of marketing channels and marketing products, make these available to partners through dashboards and reports, and drive these metrics through statistical analyses of experiments
- Continuously assess and refine your technical toolkit, sharing what you learn with the team
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need to have:
- 3+ years of proven experience as a data scientist/analyst or in a quantitative role in which you extracted insights from large datasets with minimal engineering support
- Experience with performance/digital marketing operations, channel attribution, lift and lifetime value models, statistical tools and frameworks, and finding efficient growth strategies is a plus
- Proficiency in SQL and either R or Python; extra points for experience with the Hadoop ecosystem or additional scripting languages (Scala, PHP, Ruby, etc.)
- Proven ability to communicate your insights verbally, visually, and in writing with colleagues and stakeholders
- Open to guiding others, recommending tools and standard approaches to improve the efficiency of the team's work
- Strong, independent, analytical problem solver who enjoys thinking about and solving complex and nuanced problems
- Passionate about topics like experimental design, data visualization, and statistical analysis techniques
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience with Looker, Tableau, or other data visualization software is a plus
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques is desirable
- Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing systems is a plus
