Job Summary: Data Analyst - Retail Testing Analytics
As a Data Analyst at Starbucks, you will be responsible for driving business outcomes by designing and measuring experiments that impact our physical stores. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive learning plans, analyze complex data sets, and craft compelling narratives that inform business decisions. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate and Consult: Partner with operational, business, and research stakeholders to develop comprehensive learning plans, aligning application needs to specific and measurable partner and business insights.
- Lead Data Prep and Management: Extract, manipulate, and synthesize complex data sets from various sources, including Azure, SQL server, and legacy systems. Identify anomalies and data issues and work cross-functionally to resolve.
- Craft Compelling Narratives: Work under consultative or self-initiated direction to deliver relevant visualizations and narratives that support testing recommendations. Present findings verbally and visually to various levels of business stakeholders, up to and including senior management.
- Model Starbucks Mission and Values: Deliver courage, care, and collaboration in all interactions, supporting the Starbucks Mission and Values. Model these leadership principles for the team.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree: Quantitative emphasis, such as Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Economics, Marketing Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong Communication and Presentation Skills: Effective conversations and consultation with colleagues, stakeholders, and leaders from diverse backgrounds.
- Working Knowledge of A/B Testing and Inferential Statistics: Sample size determination/power analysis, hypothesis testing, regression, etc.
- Strong Data Querying Skills: SQL and experience with a scripting language (Python or R).
- Experience with Data Visualization: ggplot2, seaborn, matplotlib, Tableau, PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience Working with Diverse Data Sets: Generating business insights from various sources.
- Proven Ability to Manage Multiple Projects: Time-sensitive initiatives and competing priorities concurrently to drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
- High Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
