**Job Summary**
As a Customer Service Representative - Self Pay Collector, you will play a critical role in our revenue cycle team, working closely with patients, guarantors, and healthcare providers to collect patient balances and resolve billing discrepancies. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from home while maintaining a high level of productivity and customer satisfaction.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Follow established collection procedures to pursue payment of patient accounts, ensuring prompt payment from guarantors while adhering to all policies and procedures.
* Review HFM and client systems to accurately collect patient balances, using check by phone, credit card, and payment plan options of payment correctly while on a dialer system.
* Phone guarantors to collect patient balances, documenting notes in the HFM or client system describing work completed on accounts.
* Follow all policies set forth for each specific client, ensuring compliance with FDCPA and HIPAA rules and regulations.
* Work daily/weekly reports accurately and timely, meeting productivity standards set by arenaflex for number of accounts worked per day as well as dollars collected per day.
* Confers with management on any discrepancies within accounts, updating system with new demographic and other pertinent data when applicable.
* Determines whether accounts are eligible for insurance, prepares insurance update form for management, and documents system appropriately.
* Interacts courteously and compassionately with other associates, patients, visitors, and clients, maintaining a professional appearance and projecting a positive image in the community.
**Requirements**
* High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in billing/claims, hospital, physician, or lab settings.
* Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel, and ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously.
* Excellent analytical, clerical, and computer skills to review HFM and client software systems and computerized reports to determine balances.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to collect balances from guarantors, with the ability to type at least 40wpm.
* Knowledge of FDCPA and HIPAA rules and regulations, with the ability to apply these regulations daily.
* Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience in a revenue cycle or billing/claims environment, with a strong understanding of revenue cycle, HIPAA, Electronic Health Records (EHR), and claim remittances/EOB comprehension.
* Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Experience working with dialer systems and payment plans.
