Job Overview
As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our borrowers, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies, and resolving customer issues in a timely and professional manner. This is a 100% remote position, and you will be required to work from home with a reliable internet connection. The shift pattern for this role includes three days, two evenings, and Saturday mornings, and you must be flexible and able to work a variety of hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers regarding their private student loans, providing clear and concise information about loan terms, status, and repayment plans.
- Professionally handle a high volume of incoming calls and make outbound calls as required, ensuring that all customer interactions are handled in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Welcome borrowers to blithequark servicing and provide an overview of loan terms, status, and repayment plans, verifying repayment terms and enrolling borrowers in AutoPay as applicable.
- Provide walk-throughs of the servicing website and enroll borrowers if applicable, ensuring that they have a clear understanding of the online platform and its features.
- Update borrower demographic information and maintain accurate records of borrower interactions and account status in company systems.
- Counsel borrowers with account management, delinquency mitigation, payment processing, and resolving billing issues, ensuring that all customer issues are resolved in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address borrower concerns and ensure timely resolution, working effectively as part of a team to achieve common goals.
- Comprehend training material on a variety of topics and share new concepts and content with colleagues, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Adhere to all federal and state laws governing the industry, as well as client Statement of Work standards and company guidelines and policies.
- Attain all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and monthly performance goals, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and a focus on achieving results.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required, with an Associate's degree preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in customer service or financial services, preferably in loan servicing.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to understand and determine priorities, effectively manage time, and develop work plans to accomplish tasks and/or projects.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to effectively participate and contribute as a member of a work group and clearly organize and convey information.

- Ability to navigate between multiple windows or within web-based applications, with a strong understanding of Microsoft applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to pass a background check and work independently in a fast-paced environment, troubleshooting software and equipment issues with minimal assistance from management and the IT department.
- A dedicated area to work from in your home, with Internet speed requirements of 50 Mb/s for download speeds and 10 Mb/s for upload speeds, and the ability to set up required equipment in your home.
