Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and evaluate assistant coaches, assigning duties and responsibilities as needed
- Conduct pre-season meetings with athletes and parents to discuss program expectations, guidelines, and responsibilities
- Monitor academic performance to ensure student-athletes are enjoying academic success
- Enforce the "Code of Ethics" for all athletes and promote sportsmanship, good moral and physical behavior
- Develop an open line of communication with participants, teachers, administrators, and parents
- Organize and implement off-season and summer programs to improve student-athletes' skills
- Cooperate with the athletic coordinator, principal, and other coaches to upgrade the total athletic program
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications:
- Employment as a teacher (preferred) or relevant coaching experience
- Valid New Mexico coaching license and CPR certification
- Completion of the New Mexico Activities Association's online course requirements for coaching
- Three years of specific sport-related experience (preferred)
- Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for performing the responsibilities listed

- Girls' sport - female candidate preferred
- Experience working with high school students and athletes
