JOB The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHS&EM), in Disaster Assistance (DA)is recruiting for an Emergency Management Specialist 3 positionsThis position is in the Supervisors Unit (SU) bargaining unit at a range **.This position is open to Alaska Residents only.Please check our Definition FAQ to determine if you qualify.What You Will Be Doing: We are seeking a dynamic leader to guide and strengthen the State’s Public Assistance program, overseeing disaster recovery projects from initial development through closeout while ensuring full compliance with state and federal requirements. In this role, you will manage the development, negotiation, and administration of disaster recovery grants, including eligibility determinations, project scoping, and financial oversight for critical infrastructure and recovery initiatives. You will lead and mentor program staff by setting priorities, assigning work, and fostering professional growth.
Serving as a key liaison with FEMA and partner organizations, you will provide expert technical guidance, resolve complex project challenges, and support applicants throughout the recovery process.
