East Coast Educational Consulting is a family-centered education consultancy focused on special education, inclusive practices, and strong school-family partnerships. Through our Substack publication Ask the Educators, podcasts, workshops, and community outreach, we support parents, teachers, and administrators in creating better learning environments for students of all abilities.
About the Role
We are seeking motivated, socially aware, and creative college students interested in education, special education, communications, social media, psychology, marketing, or nonprofit leadership to join our Educational Marketing & Community Engagement Internship.
This is a hands-on, mission-driven internship where you’ll build real-world communication and marketing skills while supporting families and educators nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Outreach
• Create and schedule posts across:
• Facebook (parent and special education groups)
• LinkedIn (educator and leadership communities)
• Instagram (family-friendly and advocacy content)
• Engage respectfully with followers and communities
• Promote Substack articles and podcast episodes
• Create a pitch and strategy for launching Facebook and Instagram pages for East Coast Educational Consulting
• Build Facebook and Instagram pages from scratch and launch them by the midpoint of the internship
• Grow social media presence and following to support client acquisition
• Present and execute ideas to drive engagement across platforms
Content Promotion
• Write short promotional blurbs for:
• Substack articles
• Podcast episodes
• Events and webinars
• Create captions and hashtags
• Repost and cross-post content
Community Engagement
• Identify relevant parent groups, advocacy pages, and educator networks
• Distribute content in appropriate online spaces
• Track engagement across posts and platforms
Light Analytics & Reporting
• Track growth in:
• Substack subscribers
• Podcast listens
• Social media followers
• Prepare short weekly or bi-weekly summaries
What You’ll Gain

Time Commitment
• 10-20 hours per week

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training
• Undergraduate or graduate students with a strong academic record from an accredited university in the United States.
• Majoring in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Communications, Marketing, Social Work, Sociology, Public Health, Nonprofit Leadership
• Be able to commit to the entire internship program.
• Professionalism, reliability, and interest in education and advocacy.
Compensation: A $500 stipend upon successful completion of the internship and all deliverables.
Intern will receive regular check-ins, guidance, feedback on writing and outreach, and professional references upon successful completion.
