Position Summary
As an Educational Assistant Substitute, you will be responsible for providing support to teachers and students in a classroom setting. Your duties will include:
- Performing a variety of clerical tasks to support the educational process
- Assisting teachers with instructional activities and providing one-on-one support to students
- Preparing and disseminating instructional materials
- Monitoring and supervising students during activities
- Recording student progress and behavior
Responsibilities
Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
- Confer with teachers and assist in preparing lessons
- Monitor and supervise students engaged in activities
- Record student progress and behavior
- Tutor students on a one-to-one or small group basis
- Prepare lessons and instruct students on specific topics
- Assist in the health room when the nurse is absent
- Supervise lunchroom, classroom, hallways, and recess yards
- Maintain an inventory of supplies and complete purchase orders
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Have at least two years of post-secondary study consisting of 72 credit hours or 48 semester units
- Or, have an associate's or higher degree
- Or, meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics
- Be able to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse students, staff, and community populations
- Have bilingual proficiency and/or multicultural experience (strongly preferred)
