Description
The Director of Business Development Operations oversees CRM integrity, pipeline reporting, and bid-decision processes to support strategic growth. The role streamlines BD workflows and drives alignment between sales and operations through clear processes and insights.
CRM Ownership
• Serve as the primary lead for rolling out and implementing a new CRM system
• Own and administer the CRM system, including structure, data integrity, workflows, and permissions
• Ensure accurate opportunity records are maintained including leads, probability, value, state and key milestones
• Establish and enforce CRM data standards and practices
• CRM support POC
Pipeline Health / Reporting
• Track and monitor leads and opportunity progression
• Ensure pipeline balance across clients and contract vehicles
• Develop and deliver recurring pipeline health reports and summaries
• Provide leadership with insights on pipeline sufficiency, risks, and forecast
• Track and report key performance metrics including win rates and cycle times
• Support strategic decision making through pipeline visibility and analysis
Go / No-Go
• Facilitate Go/No-Go decision processes, including scheduling reviews and preparing materials
• Ensure leadership has necessary data and insights to make informed bid decisions
• Document go/no-go decisions and rationale
Proposals
• Oversight of Proposal Program Manager
• Coordinate estimating and pricing efforts in coordination with Ops and Sales
BD Processes
• Develop, implement, and improve business development processes, tools, and workflows
• Maintain documentation and communication of processes, templates and SOPs
Interdepartmental Coordination
• Act as primary liaison between sales and operations throughout the sales cycle
Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or related field
• 10+ years of progressive experience in federal contracting project operations, business development operations, and capture support
• Experience designing and implementing scalable processes, work flows, and frameworks
Preferred Experience And Qualifications
• Managing cross-functional initiatives and proposal teams.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
• Ability to present insights, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Advanced analytical capabilities including pipeline trending, forecasting models, and win-rate analysis.
• Ability to drive accountability across teams.
Work Environment
• Remote based out of home.
• Ability to travel to Overland Park office on occasion. Approximately 4x per calendar year.
• Deadline-drive environment requiring responsiveness and adaptability to shifting priorities across multiple opportunities.
Physical Abilities
• Ability to sit, work on a computer, and participate in virtual or in-person meetings for extended periods.
