TITLE: Director and Assistant General Counsel GRADE: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Vice President and Deputy General Counsel
DEPT/DIVISION: Office of the General Counsel
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as the lead with the Deputy General Counsel on a portfolio of regulatory matters, both domestic and international.
• Draft and file public submissions for rulemakings and other regulatory matters, as well as advocacy communications to lawmakers and regulatory officials.
• Provide legal support to other A4A teams, especially the International Affairs and Government Affairs teams.
• Lead or assist in coordination of A4A councils, committees and workgroups.
• Research and develop functional expertise in new and ongoing regulatory topics.
• Monitor relevant legislation, regulation and guidance.
• Review and conduct legal analysis of federal agency statutory authority and policy.
• Maintain and update industry regulatory trackers and the associated reports.
• Produce written and oral communications that are well-organized, clear and persuasive.
• Review standard commercial agreements and recommend legal modifications and identify business considerations.
• Travel, both domestically and internationally, when necessary.
