Customer Success Manager, Legal Technology – Canadian Corporate Law Clerk / Paralegal Background

OVERVIEW: We are looking for a Customer Success Manager with a Canadian Corporate Law Clerk or Paralegal background to help guide and support customers as they adopt and use Appara. This is a remote, Canada-wide role. Appara is growing its presence with law firms and legal teams across the country, including in Atlantic Canada, and we would especially love to hear from experienced corporate law clerks and paralegals in that region. In this role, you will use your corporate legal experience, relationship-building skills, and interest in legal technology to support customer onboarding, training, adoption, retention, and advocacy. You will act as a trusted advisor to law firms and legal teams, helping them get the most value from Appara’s corporate legal technology platform. We are looking for someone with strong Canadian corporate legal experience who is excited to bring that knowledge into a client-facing role. Experience with wills and estates or in-house legal teams is a bonus. This role reports to the Head of Business, Corporate. WHAT YOU’LL DO: • Help legal professionals learn and succeed with Appara: Support law clerks, paralegals, lawyers, and legal teams as they learn how to use Appara in their day-to-day corporate work. • Support onboarding and adoption: Guide customers through onboarding, training, workflow questions, and ongoing adoption so they feel confident using the platform. • Act as a trusted advisor: Use your corporate legal experience to help customers understand how Appara supports entity management, corporate records, minute books, document generation, annual maintenance, transactions, and related workflows. • Build strong client relationships: Get to know our customers, understand their goals and challenges, and build strong relationships with end users, firm leaders, in-house legal teams, and other key stakeholders. • Provide product guidance and training: Explain Appara features, workflows, and best practices in a clear, simple, and practical way. • Guide adoption after onboarding: Continue to check in with customers, monitor how they are using Appara, identify where they need more support, and help them get more value from the platform over time. • Lead client meetings, training sessions, and webinars: As you grow into the role, lead virtual and onsite client meetings, training sessions, business reviews, and customer webinars. • Represent Appara with customers and the legal community: You may attend or present at conferences, trade shows, webinars, or other client-facing events. • Be the voice of the customer internally: Share customer feedback with internal teams, including Customer Success, Product, Content, Sales, and Support. • Support product and workflow improvement: Use your legal knowledge to help test product workflows, documentation, and processes, and identify areas for improvement. • Stay connected to the legal industry: Keep up with legal industry trends, customer needs, and best practices that may impact our users and product. WHAT YOU’LL NEED: • Minimum 3 years of Canadian corporate law clerk or paralegal experience required. • Strong understanding of corporate records, minute books, annual maintenance, incorporations, share transactions, director/officer/shareholder changes, and common corporate workflows. • Experience using corporate/entity management software or legal practice management tools. • Experience communicating with lawyers, clients, firm members, government registries, agents, or other external parties. • Ability to learn new technology quickly and explain legal workflows or software steps in a clear, practical way. • Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and problem-solving skills. • Comfort working with deadlines, competing priorities, and client or internal requests. • Interest in helping other legal professionals learn, adopt, and feel confident using legal technology. NICE-TO-HAVES: • Experience with more complex corporate transactions, including reorganizations, rollovers, amalgamations, continuances, share exchanges, or other multi-step corporate matters. • Experience working with corporate precedents, transaction documents, closing agendas, and minute book updates. • Wills and estates knowledge or experience. • In-house legal team experience. • Legal technology, training, implementation, customer success, or legal operations experience.
