The Opportunity
Our Outsourced Accounting & Fractional CFO Services team is expanding, and we’re looking for a Controller to support 8–10 nonprofit clients as their trusted financial leader.
This role blends accounting, consulting, and leadership—perfect for someone who enjoys variety and partnering with mission-driven organizations.
What You’ll Do
Oversee financial reporting and accounting operations for nonprofit clients
Act as a strategic advisor to executive teams and boards
Lead and mentor an accounting team delivering outsourced services
Ensure accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
Implement strong financial processes, internal controls, and reporting systems
Support budgeting, forecasting, audits, and tax preparation
What We’re Looking For
✔ 5–10 years of accounting experience (public or private)
✔ Strong nonprofit accounting and financial reporting expertise
✔ Experience managing teams and multiple client engagements
✔ CPA or MBA preferred
✔ Strong communication and relationship-building skills

The salary range for this position reflects a broad set of factors considered in compensation decisions, including—but not limited to—skills, experience, training, certifications, and overall business needs. The stated range has not been adjusted for geographic differentials that may apply based on the position’s location. At AAFCPAs, it is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, as compensation decisions are based on each candidate’s specific background and circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this role is $112,000 – $ 155,000 per year not inclusive of any bonus potential.
