About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a high-growth, multi-brand restaurant operating and investment platform to hire a Controller for a newly acquired franchise business. This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role at a company that is actively scaling through acquisitions, operational improvements, and disciplined financial infrastructure.
The organization operates a portfolio of established restaurant concepts across full-service and fast-casual dining and is building a best-in-class finance function to support continued growth. The environment is lean, entrepreneurial, and highly collaborative, with direct exposure to senior leadership and meaningful influence on how the accounting organization evolves.
The Role The Controller will lead accounting, close, audit, and internal control activities for a complex, multi-unit restaurant platform. This person will be a hands-on builder who can bring rigor, structure, and accountability to a growing accounting function while partnering closely with leadership on process improvement and financial visibility.
This role is ideal for a technically strong accounting leader who thrives in fast-moving environments and is excited by the opportunity to build scalable processes in a business undergoing transformation and growth.
What You’ll Own
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Oversee general ledger integrity, balance sheet reconciliations, and core accounting operations
• Manage the external audit process end to end, including planning, PBC coordination, issue resolution, and documentation readiness
• Assess and strengthen internal controls across key accounting and operational cycles
• Build and improve scalable accounting processes, review procedures, and team workflows
• Help lead a distributed accounting organization across offshore and U.S.-based resources
• Standardize high-volume transactional workflows common in multi-unit restaurant environments
• Partner with senior leadership to improve reporting, decision support, and overall financial discipline
• Support post-acquisition integration and help establish the accounting foundation for future growth
What We’re Looking For
• 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, audit, or controllership
• Strong preference for 5–7 years of audit experience, ideally in public accounting
• CPA strongly preferred
• Experience in restaurant, hospitality, franchise, retail, or other multi-unit operating environments strongly preferred
• Deep knowledge of close, controls, reconciliations, audit management, and financial reporting
• Experience building or improving accounting processes in lean, high-growth, or newly acquired businesses
• Demonstrated success managing external auditors and audit-ready financial processes
• Experience leading offshore and/or distributed accounting teams is a plus
• Strong judgment, executive presence, and a hands-on leadership style
• Comfortable operating in a remote environment while supporting a multi-state business
Why This Role Stands Out
• High visibility with senior leadership in a lean, high-impact environment
• Broad exposure across a growing multi-brand restaurant platform
• Real opportunity to build structure, strengthen controls, and shape the accounting function
• A seat at the table during a meaningful growth and integration phase
• A role with both strategic influence and day-to-day ownership
Compensation & Benefits
• Competitive base salary, with target range generally aligned to senior controller-level talent
• Performance bonus opportunity
• 401(k) plan
• Medical, dental, and vision benefits
• Company-paid basic life and disability coverage
• Paid time off and holidays
