Job Summary
Investigator Support Services (ISS) partners with clinical research sites, healthcare organizations, Sponsors, and CROs across North America to support clinical trial feasibility and site identification initiatives.
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented B2B Email Marketing & Copywriting Automation Specialist with experience in clinical research or life sciences industry.
This role combines hands-on campaign execution, B2B copywriting, marketing automation, list development, and systems optimization. The ideal candidate is both technical and creative — someone who can build campaigns, write compelling outreach messaging, and continuously improve marketing workflows.
This is a long-term remote contract opportunity requiring a consistent commitment of approximately 10–15+ hours per week. We are only considering independent consultants/freelancers who actively consult as part of their primary professional focus. This role is not ideal for candidates currently employed full-time elsewhere or those seeking short-term transitional work between full-time positions.
Key Responsibilities
1) Email Marketing & Campaign Execution
• Build, launch, and optimize targeted B2B email campaigns using Apollo.io and integrated platforms
• Manage campaign workflows, sequencing, A/B testing, and automation logic
• Monitor campaign performance and optimize for engagement, deliverability, conversions, and response quality
• Support outreach initiatives targeting Sponsors, CROs, healthcare organizations, investigators, and research sites
• Assist with campaign tracking, reporting, and ongoing optimization recommendations
2) Copywriting & Marketing Content
• Write and refine professional B2B marketing copy for email campaigns and LinkedIn outreach
• Develop compelling subject lines, CTAs, and messaging tailored to Sponsors, CROs, healthcare organizations, investigators, and research sites
• Edit and improve existing marketing materials for clarity, professionalism, engagement, and conversion performance
• Collaborate with leadership on campaign positioning, messaging strategy, and communication initiatives
• Support development of marketing collateral, outreach messaging, and branded communications
3) CRM, Automation & Data Management
• Build and maintain highly targeted prospect lists within clinical research and life sciences
• Segment audiences and support lead management workflows
• Maintain CRM and database quality through validation, deduplication, enrichment, and organization
• Prepare campaign-ready datasets and performance tracking reports
• Support integrations and workflow automation across marketing systems and platforms
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows, integrations, and automation processes
Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in B2B email marketing, copywriting, marketing automation, or marketing operations
• 3+ years of experience in clinical research, CROs, healthcare services, life sciences, or technical B2B industries strongly preferred
• Strong copywriting and business communication skills required
• Proven experience building and managing outbound email campaigns and prospecting workflows
• Strong understanding of email deliverability, sender reputation, and domain health
• Experience with list building, segmentation, enrichment, and validation tools
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
