DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will serve as the Section Chief of the Design Section within the Division of Project Development & Design, Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation (BAMR). You will lead a team of engineers and draftspersons in designing and drafting abandoned mine land (AML) reclamation projects that support the effective implementation of Pennsylvania’s AML Program and address mine-water impacts across the Commonwealth. As an Environmental Group Manager and licensed Professional Engineer (PE), you will also review engineering work products and assume responsible charge for all professional engineering activities performed under your supervision, in accordance with Act 367 and established standards of practice. Key responsibilities include: • Managing and directing engineering and drafting staff in the development of AML reclamation project designs. • Reviewing and approving engineering work products prepared by staff and consultants, ensuring compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements. • Exercising responsible charge over all professional engineering work performed within the section, consistent with Act 367 and applicable standards of practice. • Overseeing the efficient planning, design, and delivery of AML projects that support BAMR’s mission and statewide environmental restoration goals. Work Schedule and Additional Information: • Full-time employment • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: • Four years of professional civil engineering experience which includes three years in the appropriate speciality and one year of experience in directing the work of civil engineers. Special Requirement:Possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
