About Kotofit
Kotofit is building NYC/NJ's first tech-powered indoor badminton and pickleball club — automated venues, skill-based matchmaking, and a community built around rated play. We just signed leases on two locations and are preparing for a mid-July launch. We're lean, moving fast, and doing things no one in this space has done before.
This is not a corporate job. It is a front-row seat to building something from scratch.
The role
We're looking for a Chief of Staff who reports directly to the founder and owns the execution of our entire go-to-market launch. That means three things running simultaneously: a traditional marketing program across Google, Instagram, TikTok, and email; a community ambassador program where we recruit and manage crowd-pullers who grow the venue through their networks; and DUBR — our proprietary badminton rating and matchmaking platform that we're launching alongside the venues.
You won't be handed a playbook. You'll be building it. One week you're setting up Google Ads and writing email sequences. The next you're recruiting a WhatsApp group admin to become a paid ambassador.
If that sounds exhausting, this isn't the right role. If it sounds like exactly the kind of thing you've been looking for, keep reading.
What you'll own
• Execute the full pre-launch and launch marketing plan across all channels — organic social, SEM, email, SMS, and community outreach
• Build and manage the Kotofit Ambassador Program — recruit, onboard, track performance, and pay out commissions for a tiered network of community ambassadors
• Drive DUBR player acquisition — get badminton and pickleball players in the NYC/NJ area profiled and matched before the venues open
• Be the operator in the room: coordinate between marketing, ops, and the founder so nothing falls through the cracks
• Build the weekly content cadence and either create content yourself or direct a part-time creator
What we're looking for
Experience matters less than the specific combination of traits we need:
You are a self-starter in the literal sense — you see a gap and close it without being asked. You are comfortable with ambiguity and don't need a perfect brief to take action. You are data-literate enough to know whether something is working and honest enough to say when it isn't. You are a strong written communicator — our marketing lives and dies on copy. You are energized by community building, not just digital marketing — this role involves real people, real venues, and real relationships.
Specific experience that helps but isn't required: sports or fitness industry, community management, ambassador or referral program management, Google Ads, email marketing, content creation or direction.
What you'll get
• Compensation, 20–30 hours per week
• Direct mentorship from an Ivy-educated founder building a franchise business
• Real ownership — you will be the person who launched Kotofit, not someone who assisted with it
• Exposure across marketing, operations, product, and community strategy simultaneously
• A reference and professional relationship that will follow you for years
• Access to the venues, the community, and the sport — if you play badminton or pickleball, even better
To apply
Send us two things: a resume, and a short note (under 200 words) on what specifically about this role caught your attention. Generic cover letters are ignored. Tell us something real.
Applications without the short note will not be reviewed.
