JOB OVERVIEW: The Staff Accountant is responsible for the financial management and reporting for a portfolio of clients.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements with important deadlines
- Perform bank and other account reconciliations
- Review and approve peer work product
- Review, prepare, enter, track and report on budgets
- Set-up and terminate new communities and accounts
- Accrue expenses monthly
- Respond to a high volume of phone calls/e-mails from internal and external customers
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING:
- Understanding of HOA management and financials including governing rules and regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to meet time sensitive deadlines
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
- Strong organizational skills
- Computer skills including Word and Excel
- Must be very responsive and have strong customer service skills
- Must be able to manage high volume of work and multi-task
- Ability to work independently, but also able to work in a team environment
- Must have a pleasant and professional demeanor and have the ability to manage strong personalities
- Certified Public Accountant is required
