We partner with family-focused businesses and nonprofits to create authentic content marketing that actually reaches parents — through dynamic websites, weekly newsletters, social media, and local events. Our small, close-knit team of women is passionate about making raising kids in the Philadelphia region easier, more fun, and more connected. Whether you've lived in the area your whole life or you're still learning its rhythms, this is a role where your connections and your community instincts become your greatest professional asset. Family Focus Media is looking for a part-time Publishing Assistant for Bucks County Parent — a detail-oriented, community-minded person who wants to put their organizational skills and local knowledge to work in a flexible, meaningful way. This is a part-time, remote independent contractor position (approximately 15–20 hours per week) with a flexible schedule during daytime hours. You'll work virtually with our small team and show up in person for the occasional local event. Must be based in or close to Bucks County. What You'll Do You'll be the behind-the-scenes engine that keeps Bucks County Parent running smoothly and warmly. That includes: Keeping our event calendar current, accurate, and full of things families will actually love Reaching out to local businesses and organizations to introduce our membership community (warm, relationship-first outreach — not cold calling) Building and refreshing Member Profile Pages — treating each one as a genuine relationship, not just a task Welcoming new members through the onboarding process and helping them understand the value of what they've joined Preparing our weekly High Five newsletter and helping gather content Loading stories into WordPress (contributing writers, sponsored content, community posts) Monitoring our Facebook group and supporting community engagement Flagging members who may need extra attention to the Development Manager Submitting a short weekly report every Friday Who You Are You're based in Bucks County and genuinely love it here You're organized, reliable, and take pride in getting the details right You communicate warmly — in writing and in conversation You're comfortable in Google Suite, WordPress, Mailchimp, Canva, and Asana (or eager to learn) You understand the local family landscape — schools, neighborhoods, community events, the vibe You're a self-starter who doesn't need micromanaging, but loves being part of a collaborative team You might be a parent looking for flexible, purposeful work — or a young professional who wants to grow in content, community, and digital media This is a great fit if you're: A Bucks County parent ready to turn your community knowledge into meaningful work A recent grad in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field Someone who has done admin, communications, or marketing work and wants a role with heart Compensation: Starting at $12/hour | Independent contractor (1099) | Approximately 15–20 hours/week Priority consideration will be given to candidates who submit their resume with a short cover letter addressed to Founder and CEO Sarah Bond that includes: Why you want to join our team Your connection to our mission of building community Your relevant experience with required software platforms Your location in the Greater Philadelphia area Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
