Crafting beautiful books is at the heart of everything Reedsy does. We are seeking talented editors to work one-on-one with authors, furthering them in their publishing journey and providing top-quality edits and feedback.
Besides delivering work that meets a high professional standard, you'll be expected to understand your clients' needs and guide them through the editing or coaching collaboration with your knowledge of the industry and the market. You can choose to provide any of the following services that you have solid experience in:
- Book coaching
- Editorial assessment
- Developmental editing
- Copy editing
- Proofreading
- Indexing
- Query letter review
As a freelancer on Reedsy, you will receive requests in the genres of your interest, select the projects you want to work on, and determine your own rates and availability. Reedsy automatically handles contracts and payments so you can stay focused on your craft.
REQUIREMENTS
We carefully review each application, but these are the minimum requirements:
- 3+ years of editing experience.
- Experience working with recognised publishers in your niche.
- A portfolio of at least 5 published books that are well reviewed.
Experience working for a renowned publishing company or a history of high-quality work with a bestselling author/book will be positively valued.
