Biostatistician II - Department of Biostatistics

**Overview:** The Department of Biostatistics Clinical Trials Data Management Center is seeking a Biostatistician II to join their team. This role will conduct analyses, communicate findings to collaborators, and collaborate with a team of biostatisticians engaged in multi-center clinical research. **Responsibilities:** • Consult with investigators on the design of studies, including statistical and operational aspects • Prepare statistical sections for complex studies • Communicate key statistical findings to team leaders and investigators • Write reports of statistical analyses and prepare written materials for funding agencies and others • Prepare and review data for validity and accuracy • Recommend additional statistical tests and complex modifications to the statistical analysis • Create, test, and validate complex programs that generate data analyses, data summaries, and data listings for reports using statistical packages or programming languages • Assist with developing statistical analysis plans • Assist investigators in the design and implementation of complex statistical analysis • Organize, document, maintain, and archive statistical analysis programs, data sets, and results • Prepare data sets for public use and reporting to appropriate funding agencies following all guidelines • May develop and apply new methods and trends in data analysis techniques to data sets • *Qualifications:** • Master's degree in biostatistics, statistics, data science, or related field • Proficient in SAS programming (minimum of 2 years of experience) • Strong verbal and written communications skills • Demonstrated ability to perform and interpret complex statistical analysis procedures in mixed-effects modeling, categorical, longitudinal, and survival data analyses • Ability to work in a team environment • Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines • Some experience using relational database methods to manipulate and merge multiple large datasets to create analytical datasets • *Benefits:** • This is a regular, salaried position • Fringe benefit package including paid vacation, sick leave, health, dental, life, and disability insurance options, and generous employer contributions into retirement plans • Complete information regarding the full benefits package may be viewed at: Benefits | University Human Resources - The University of Iowa (uiowa.edu)
