Automation Test Engineer (Entry-Level / Associate) – Role Description & Qualifications We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Automation Test Engineer (Entry-Level / Associate) to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in software testing, automation technologies, and software quality, with a willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative development environment. The Automation Test Engineer will assist in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts while supporting manual testing activities to ensure software applications meet functional, performance, and quality standards. This role provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and early-career professionals to build expertise in software testing and test automation. Key Responsibilities • Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile, and desktop applications. • Assist in designing test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements. • Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, smoke, and user acceptance testing (UAT). • Identify, document, and track software defects using issue management tools. • Verify bug fixes and conduct regression testing before software releases. • Support API, database, and cross-browser testing activities. • Collaborate with software developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and product teams. • Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings, sprint planning, and testing reviews. • Contribute to the improvement of automation frameworks and testing processes. • Maintain testing documentation, execution reports, and quality metrics. • Learn and adopt industry best practices in software quality assurance and automation testing. • Support CI/CD testing and software release activities. Required Skills & Competencies • Basic understanding of software testing principles and quality assurance methodologies. • Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, or similar. • Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies. • Basic understanding of automation testing concepts and tools. • Knowledge of SQL and basic database querying. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to software quality. • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. • Strong willingness to learn new technologies and testing tools. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field. • Internship, academic project, or entry-level experience in software testing, QA, software development, or automation is an advantage. • Familiarity with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or similar frameworks. • Experience with Postman, REST APIs, Git, Jenkins, Jira, Azure DevOps, or TestRail is beneficial. • Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or cloud platforms is a plus. • ISTQB Foundation Certification or similar QA certifications are considered an advantage.
