Application Support Analyst

Application Support Analyst  Location: Remote  Employment Type: Full-time    Job Summary  The Application Support Analyst is responsible for the operational support, troubleshooting, and optimization of our FOCUS billing system used across clinical operations. This role ensures accurate charge capture, claims processing, and reimbursement for dialysis services by partnering closely with Revenue Cycle, Compliance, Clinical Operations, and external vendors. The analyst serves as the subject matter expert for FOCUS billing workflows and acts as a key liaison between business users and technical teams. Hours needed are in the Central/Pacific time zone.    Key Responsibilities  Provide Tier 1 application support for the FOCUS billing system  Act as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for FOCUS billing workflows, configurations, and business rules  Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to:   Charge capture and posting  Claims generation, submission, and reprocessing  Remittances, adjustments, denials, and write-offs  Patient demographics, insurance setup, and eligibility  Support Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer billing requirements specific to dialysis services  Investigate data integrity issues and billing discrepancies; perform root cause analysis and corrective actions  Coordinate with Revenue Cycle teams to resolve billing errors and reduce claim denials  Manage user access, roles, and permissions within FOCUS  Collaborate with internal support teams to resolve upstream data issues impacting billing (interfaces, documentation gaps)  Participate in system testing, validation, and change management activities  Create and maintain SOPs, billing workflows, and end-user documentation  Provide training and ongoing support to billing and clinic operations staff  Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulatory standards  Participate in after-hours or on-call support rotations as required    Required Qualifications  2+ years of hands-on application support experience in a healthcare billing environment  Strong understanding of dialysis revenue cycle processes  Knowledge of CMS billing rules, ESRD regulations, and payer requirements  Proven troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills  Experience working with ticketing systems (TeamSupport is a plus) and incident/change management workflows  Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical users    Preferred Qualifications  2+ years of billing support experience  Direct experience supporting the FOCUS dialysis billing platform is a plus  Dialysis or nephrology industry experience  Working knowledge of CPT, ICD‑10, and HCPCS coding  Experience analyzing claim denials and reimbursement trends  Familiarity with EMR‑to‑billing interfaces (HL7 or similar)  Basic SQL or reporting experience for billing data analysis    Key Competencies  Detail-oriented with a strong focus on billing accuracy  Customer-service driven mindset  Ability to prioritize and manage multiple billing issues simultaneously  Strong collaboration skills across clinical, financial, and IT teams  Proactive approach to system stability and process improvement  FLSA Designation (US Only): Exempt Salary Range: The estimated base salary range for this role is USD$45,000.00 - USD$55,000.00 per year. We include salary ranges in job postings only where required by applicable pay transparency laws, based on the jurisdictions in which the role may be performed. The posted range is a good faith estimate and reflects factors that are subject to change. Final offer amounts may vary based on job-related factors, including work location, candidate experience and expertise, and other relevant considerations. Other Compensation (US Only): This role will also be eligible for participation in a Company profit sharing bonus plan. Plan details will be provided to you upon hire.
