AML Analyst, Transaction Monitoring

About the position BitPay is seeking an AML Analyst, Transaction Monitoring to join our Compliance and Risk team. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring ongoing compliance through transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and support of regulatory and law enforcement inquiries. Responsibilities • Monitor transactions and account activity to identify unusual patterns and potential money laundering risks • Conduct sanctions screening and support related investigations • Review merchant activity to ensure alignment with internal policies and regulatory expectations • Respond to subpoenas and requests from law enforcement and regulatory agencies • Assist with internal investigations and collaborate with legal and compliance teams as needed • Draft clear and comprehensive reports, including documentation of suspicious activity and investigative outcomes • Maintain and update compliance policies and procedures, particularly those relating to suspicious activity monitoring, sanctions enforcement, and regulatory reporting • Support internal audits and testing functions related to AML compliance • Provide guidance to internal teams on appropriate action related to high-risk behavior or accounts • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior leadership, on compliance issues and risk exposure • Participate in cross-functional projects to improve and strengthen the company’s compliance framework • Other duties as assigned Requirements • 3+ years of experience in an AML compliance role, preferably in the crypto industry • Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt and manage priorities in a dynamic environment • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset and positive attitude Nice-to-haves • Blockchain tracing/analytics experience or Blockchain Analytic certifications is a plus • ACAMS or similar AML certifications is preferred • Pre-law coursework or relevant experience is a plus Benefits • Generous vacation policy • Sabbatical leave • Select your own holidays • Continuous learning and development opportunities • Professional development reimbursement • Competitive salary package • Fully covered medical and dental plans • Telemedicine • Life insurance • Disability insurance • Vision coverage • 401k • Travel assistance • Option to receive payment in cryptocurrency • Crypto match program • Stock option awards • Home office allowance • Reimbursement for internet/cell expenses • Complimentary Amazon Prime subscription • Complimentary Spotify subscription
